Financing using your Personal Training Account (CPF)
The “CPF”, introduced in France in January 2015, is a credit earned by all employees and reserved for buying training. This personal fund allows you to learn new skills throughout your working life. Note that you have a free choice of training: it does not have to correspond to your current job. This means you can use your CPF credit to help you find a new job or to prepare for a career change.
To better understand the CPF, to create your own CPF account or to use your credits for language training, see our dedicated page on use of the CPF, or call us at (+33) (0)2 38 22 03 22 or use our contact form.
Partial or complete financing by employers
If your company considers that foreign language skills will enhance your performance, it may be willing pay for all or part for your training. There are a number of options:
1. Employer contribution
Your company can partially finance your training.
To do this, your employer can make a contribution directly for the selected training course via the “Employers and Financers Space” (EDEF) platform on moncompteformation.gouv.fr. The payment is held by the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignation public financial institution until it is made available to you via your CPF.
If you are an employer wishing to contribute to employee training, you can see the steps involved in this illustrated tutorial.
2. Financing by your OPCO

In the framework of the company’s Skills Development Plan, courses may be financed by the government “Competency Operator” (OPCO: Opérateur de Compétence) corresponding to your professional branch, respecting the procedural framework defined for that branch.

3. Financing via the National Employment Fund
